Our Story

When Alvena Insurance Agency celebrated its 35^th year in business in September 2018, it provided us the opportunity to reflect on the past three and a half decades and wonder what the future has in store.

Alvena Insurance Agency (1983) Ltd. was purchased by Natalie & Ben Maruschak from William Magus and was operated out of the Alvena Village Office, where Natalie was the Village Administrator.  Our vision was to serve Alvena and surrounding farming communities, Saskatoon and insurance clients throughout the province.

In 1988, Alvena Insurance Agency moved when Ben and Natalie built their own office building at 100 Main Street in Alvena, and they continue to operate out of this very building to this day.  To-day, they continue to operate as a locally owned,full service SGI Insurance Broker and Motor Vehicle License Issuer, while also providing Health, Travel and Hail insurance.

Ben and I attributed our longevity to numerous factors: SGI‘s support, hard work, dedicated team members and customers who became and continue to be part of our insurance family throughout our 35 years.

At Alvena Insurance, we are committed to being part of Alvena and surrounding areas and proudly support and sponsor local events.

What’s in store for the future? As a certified Insurance Broker, Natalie leads the insurance side of the business with the support of her team – Randy Clay and Glorian Shawaga. We plan to continue to grow and change in order to meet the challenges that the future holds.  Our goal  is to grow alongside you and your families and celebrate our successes together. 

We are a family owned business .  Our company was founded 35 years ago on simple values….. hard work, family, honesty and integrity, and these values will continue to guide us into the future.
